Integrate And Synchronize All Your Email Accounts
How to integrate and synchronize all your E-mail accounts
Is your virtual office stuck in the mail? Are you tired of juggling six different email accounts, websites, three different web accounts, and two mail clients on your two computers? And what about using your iPhone? Just imagine you do not have a corporate IT department providing and supporting an Exchange account? Is there a virtual solution for free?
Using a free service like Google Mail, you can link all these accounts in a virtual account and then access that one account through one of your computers or mobile devices and have them all synced up! You can even send an e-mail from your iPhone during the journey by road, and it be in your sent box on your desktop when you get to work! Using IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol, or IMAP is one of the two most prevalent Internet standard protocols for e-mail retrieval) to access your e-mail instead of POP can greatly simplify your life, all you got to do is configure, thats it!
We recommend using Google to freely host your Email domain. Follow these simple steps:
Step # 1: Get a Gmail account
Create a Gmail account, if you do not already have one. You can either choose to use this account for your email, or just use it as an account "utility" to organize all your other accounts.
Step # 2: Establishment
Go to 'Setting' place at the top. Click on the tab "Accounts".
Under "Get mail from other accounts click 'Add mail account that you own.
Enter the username and password, and perhaps the POP settings (you can get the original account), but Google is smart enough to try to understand these things by itself.
Step # 3: Follow up with all your other mail accounts.
Under the "Sender", click "Add another e-mail that you have.
Same routine as described in step 2, fill in the blanks.
Step # 4: Set the "Reply As" Address:
Once you add the accounts, an option appears to "Reply to the same address that the message was sent."
Do it with all your email accounts.
Now you can forget all your other accounts - Gmail act as a clearinghouse. It will check all your e-mail and send all responses to the appropriate account.
The final step is to change your email client (e.g. Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) to verify that this Gmail account and use IMAP instead of POP. This will keep all your accounts in sync that wherever you go, and each device that you use all the emails that your will be there exactly where you expect it to be.
Each email client has a different routine for creating an email account, so you need to use the 'Help' to understand that for each device. A quick Google search will get you whatever the settings that you might need. iPhones default IMAP for GMail, once setup is like a breeze! Try it.
